CardVault
Terms & ConditionsEffective 16 August 2026

The agreement between you and CardVault.

Plain terms for a payment product: who can open an account, how the cards behave, what we charge, and how either of us can bring it to an end.

01

Who can use CardVault

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract where you live. An account is for one person; it is not transferable.

You must give us accurate information about yourself and keep it current. We may refuse, limit or close an account where we cannot verify who you are, or where the law requires us to.

02

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password and two-factor codes to yourself — we will never ask you for them.

Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has access to your account. Until you do, we may treat instructions given through it as coming from you.

03

The cards we issue

A CardVault card is a virtual Visa card issued through our card partner. It is a payment instrument, not a bank account. The balance on a card is the value of a deposit you sent us, less our fee — it is not a deposit with a bank, it earns no interest, and no deposit protection scheme covers it.

You may hold up to three active cards at once. Closing one you have finished with frees a place for the next.

You can freeze a card and unfreeze it again whenever you like, or terminate it for good. Terminating is permanent: the number stops working and cannot be restored. Our card partner will not accept a termination within 24 hours of a card being created, so freeze it instead until that has passed.

Not every card can be topped up. Cards that take their money once, at the moment they are created, are identified as such before you pay for one, and nothing can be added to them afterwards.

A card balance is spent through the card. It cannot be withdrawn back out to a wallet or a bank account.

04

Funding a card

Cards are funded by stablecoin deposit and by no other method. When you place an order we give you an address and the exact amount to send. That deposit arriving is what creates the card — there is no separate confirmation step and no button to tell us you have paid.

We accept USDC, and no other token. Your deposit address is issued for one network — BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, Tron or Polygon — and holds nothing sent over any other. Sending a different token, or sending USDC over a network the address was not issued for, puts the money beyond anyone’s reach, ours included. It cannot be recovered, refunded or credited. Check what your wallet or exchange is sending before you confirm it.

An order has one address, permanently. Submitting the order again changes the amount and the name on it and returns the same address; it never issues a second one.

A deposit too small to create a card is held against your order and added to your next one rather than returned. A deposit larger than a card’s maximum is not refused, because by the time it arrives it cannot be: the card is created at its maximum and the remainder is held for us to settle by hand, which takes longer than not overpaying would have.

Creating a card is not instant. Once your deposit arrives the card is requested from our card partner and exists a short time later. Until it does it shows as activating, carries no balance, and cannot be spent.

If money reaches us and a card is not created, it is not lost. Tell us and a person will resolve it — do not send a second deposit, because that would be a second payment.

05

How payments work

When you pay, the merchant asks us to authorise the amount. We decline anything above the balance on the card, anything on a frozen, terminated or still-activating card, and anything we reasonably believe to be fraudulent. A card can never spend more than has been put on it, and there is no overdraft.

An authorisation can be held for a period before it clears or drops off, so an amount may be reserved against a card before it appears as a completed payment.

Payments in another currency are converted at the rate applying when the transaction settles, which may differ from the rate on the day you paid.

06

Disputes with merchants

A charge you disagree with is between you and the merchant first. Contact them before you contact us — most problems are resolved faster that way.

Where the card network’s rules allow it, we will raise a chargeback on your behalf. We cannot guarantee the outcome, and the network sets the deadlines.

07

Fees

We charge a fee when a card is created, and again whenever a card is topped up. The exact amount is shown next to the deposit address before you send anything, and it is the only amount added to what you asked to put on the card. Fees can change; the figure shown to you at the time you pay is the one that applies.

There is no monthly or subscription fee, and nothing is charged while a card sits unused.

Third parties may charge you separately — the network fee your wallet or exchange takes to send a deposit, or a merchant’s own surcharge — and those are outside our control.

08

Availability

We aim to keep the service running at all times, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Card networks, banks and merchants are outside our control.

We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Where a change materially reduces what the service does, we will tell you in advance.

09

Your privacy

How we collect and handle your data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

10

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes take effect 30 days after we tell you, unless a change has to happen sooner for legal or security reasons.

Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not, close your account.
